Description
The Harlem Renaissance was the name given to the cultural, social and artistic explosion that took place in Harlem between the end of World War I and the middle of the 1930?s. During this time, Harlem was a cultural center, drawing black writers, artists, musicians, photographers, poets, and scholars. A special event of the Beaufort Arts Council, The Harlem Renaissance, is being held January 30, 2016 at Tabby Place from 7PM to 11PM. This event recognizes the unique cultural contributions of African-Americans and the period known as the Harlem Renaissance. All proceeds will benefit the Beaufort Arts Council?s programs and services. Invite your friends and reserve early! Please help us make it a grand success in 2016. Your support will help continue our tradition of recognizing, celebrating, and sharing the arts with everyone, including our after school programs. Save the date for a fabulous, fun-filled evening!
