Known for their distinctive mix of rock, funk and R&B, Robert Randolph & The Family Band will headline the 2016 A-Town Get Down Music & Art Festival.
This year's all-day festival will feature regional live bands and visual artists each representing diverse music genres and a myriad of artistic styles. Artists & Musicians include Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Randall Bramblett, Paris Monster, Infalliable Funk, Gill Landry, Walter Parks & The Florida Ballet, Kay Dené & the Record, Savannah Children's Choir, The Get Right Band, Andrae Murchison, Marques & The Marvelous Miracles, Waits & Co, The Live Art of Jose Ray, SCAD Ceramics, Digital Art, Loop It Up Savannah and More to be announced soon.
In addition to live performances and exhibits, guests can expect an array of family activities, hands-on art projects, workshops, and an open jam session.
This great Savannah Festival is one of the fastest-growing festivals in the area. Organized by the Alex Townsend Memorial Foundation, it is an interactive art and music festival dedicated to providing access to the arts for Savannah's youth, inspiring them to discover the confidence and self-esteem that comes with creative self expression.
Since the inaugural festival in 2011, the festival celebrates the life of Alex Townsend, affectionately called A-Town, by making the arts more accessible to underserved communities throughout Savannah, the city he loved.
